I engaged Dan to do a mammoth build of the Lockheed Blackbird family - all variants - around 9 aircraft in 1/72 in total. I engaged him in particular because I had been surfing the web for some years to find someone who could build an accurate Lockheed A-12 in bare metal paint scheme, and Dan?s own personal project was by far the best I had found on the web or elsewhere. I contacted him unaware that he did commission builds, but just asking if he would build me a clone of his A-12. I started with only one aircraft in mind, but after seeing Dan?s professionalism at work we rapidly expanded the project to include another eight aircraft. At this point, Dan has built six of the nine aircraft in the total project. Thus far, I am extremely satisfied with Dan?s work, and I truly I found the right person to execute this project.

SR-71 Project

Having purchased a model of a motor bike and having seen the detail, I knew immediately this was something I could not even try to do. I was very lucky to find Danny, where by just explaining what I needed he took the problem away. All throughout the build he informed me of where he was at even sending photos, which just showed the skill he has for this. Upon completing Danny asked if I wanted the final photos, thankfully I asked for these to be sent after it had arrived back with me. The surprise and delight of the finished model along with the story book of it's build, was a bonus a fantastic experience. If you need something put together he's your man. I will be back with another project in the near future that's for sure.

Customer Honda ST-70 DAX

With the cost and rarity of this kit I knew this was a job for a professional builder. I contacted Danny and soon got a warm friendly email back saying he would be happy to build the kit and quoted a fair price. Danny only works on one model at a time, this means he gives your kit undivided individual attention, he also sent photos and descriptions of the build every Sunday, which was really something to look forward to. It was great to see the bike coming together. Danny had actually gone the extra mile making superior parts for the kit as he felt some of the originals were flimsy and of an inferior quality. If you are looking for a model builder who is friendly, skilled and professional, who will take his time and go the extra mile to give you the best possible job no matter what the age of the kit or subject matter then look no further. I will definitely recommend him to my friends and will definitely use him again.

1/8 Heller Kawasaki 750 Mach IV

Danny Attree recently (August 2015) built a mid 1960?s Honda 250cc racing motorcycle RC166 for me. I sought to use a reputable and well known model maker in order to get the quality of finish I would be happy with. Danny supplied me photographs of the progress of the build over 10 days. The pictures were amazing and encouraging to say the least. However when I received the finished product very securely dispatched in the post I simply had to gasp and the precision and level of detail finish with amazing paintwork well researched and accurately representing the colours of the actual machine exactly. This was technically a very difficult model and the enjoyment I get daily when my eye catches the model on display is a testament to Danny?s patience, engineering knowledge, and modelling skills. I wholeheartedly endorse him for any modelling project you may have as Danny is clearly up to Studio modelling standards as in the case of my Honda.

A few years ago I purchased all three kit versions of the Polar Lights 1/350 USS Enterprise. I knew I didn't have the skill to do them justice so they have remained in a cupboard since then. As this is the 50th anniversary of Star Trek I decided to have the TOS kit built so I approached Danny to do it for me. I haven't regretted that decision. Throughout the build he took meticulous notes and photographs so I could follow the build at every stage. I am absolutely delighted with the work Danny has done and the finished model is absolutely beautiful and very impressive. It's a large model and I'm currently waiting for a custom built display case for it but if I can find the space for the other models I'll definite be using Danny's skill and talent to built them too.

1/350 TOS Polar Lights Enterprise

Having experienced Danny?s substantial skills with the Star Wars MC80 Liberty cruiser, I could not resist a revisit to him with another sci-fi classic; this time with the Moebius 1/4105 scale original Battlestar Galactica. The kit, perfect in every detail, was sure to be a challenge but one I knew Danny could master; and master it he did. As before, his reports were informative and his work highly meticulous! The overall construction, paintwork and lighting are nothing short of stunning; the level of detail he has achieved is truly magnificent. Danny has really brought this kit to life. The ship now sits proudly amongst my collection; a testament to the skill and hardworking efforts of a truly gifted and talented model maker. Many thanks Danny for surpassing my expectations yet again; I knew only you could do it.

Battlestar Galactica Commission.

I found Danny through Starship Modeller. After contact with him, to discuss what I was looking for we met up to discuss the final plan face to face. During the build he kept me informed with regular updates and pictures on the progress of my Defiant model and any ideas he had come up with. He was always on hand via email or the phone to discuss any problems or ideas (not that there were any problems lol). I asked for the final reveal and any details about the finished model to be left as a surprise. When the time came I was not disappointed. He had done a great job. The lighting rig was great and the paint job was fantastic. He also capped it all off with emailing me some pictures of the final model in all its glory, to keep as souvenir. U.S.S. Defiant Model Build

When I first purchased the Stargazer Discovery Model it was a mess of jumbled parts that arrived through the post and I could never imagine what the final product could look like. The photos speak for themselves on the tremendous job that danny has done with this incredibly detailed and difficult model. Danny managed to source pictures of the original from the 2001 Space Odyssey to get a perfect match for the finish and also doing a professional job of adding a bespoke lighting kit to the model, which looked incredibly difficult but added a great effect. I came across Danny 2 or 3 year’s ago trying to source a good model maker, luckily for me I came across an excellent one. His attention to detail, expertise and understanding of what I required with the 4 models he has made for me was quite astonishing. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a model maker of any type of kit, I am extremely satisfied with the results, and his work ethic. He does not compromise on anything and will give his honest opinion if he believes that a client’s instructions are not going to work…what’s not to like ?!

The model building he has done for me is…2001 A Space Odyssey Discovery XD-1, Lost in Space Jupiter 2 (large version including full interior), International Rescue Thunderbird 3, Star Trek USS ENTERPRISE ‘refit’ (large scale version), with custom paint work and custom built acrylic stand.
